2007 Pumpkinman Triathlon – Viva las Wilderness!
It's been many, many years since my last triathlon. I thought I'd leave it at that and never have to face the early morning race jitters again; anticipating the suffering through choppy waters, windy bike courses and the jello knees before the intolerably hot run. But then, I forgot how exciting it really is to compete – the sense of accomplishment crossing over that finish line, never mind how many hours it takes!
Getting back into the tri state is hard after turning your back on it for the last 12 or more years, so a relay was all I could muster. But doing it for the Nevada Wilderness Project was a great way to get back into it – raising money, awareness and being in the company of some of the most down to earth and fun people ever! It was a great race, for fun, for personal bests and we raised the hell out of that event, raising a ton of money to help protect Nevada's Wild Lands!
