Beginning to bloom

I have this thing for spindly trees and clouds. Clouds fascinate me. Dark, spindly trees against stark clouds in sky capture my imagination. I will have a million cloud and tree pictures before I even begin to tire of them.

is finally here! This thing is TINY and lives up to it's compact description – it certainly is. The interface is quite different from what I'm used to, and will have to get the hang of setting manual settings on a digital camera. I haven't set aperture and shutter speed since I last used a 35mm SLR, ages ago. I confess, I only got it for the red dot, it's the best part.

somewhere over the rainbow

lies rocks, asphalt, and more lamp posts. Hard to capture while in a moving car on a soggy, cloudy day, but the is was the first EVER complete rainbow I've seen.

wipe off the dust

and just go. Went for a short ride this morning and woke up some long dormant muscles that groaned with each pedal. It wasn't as nice as a Lake Tahoe ride, but the cool morning air felt good on face and in lungs despite being on asphalt and stony sand. It's time to kick up some dust. The New Year is finally over. No excuses now.
